KeepMyTips — Privacy Policy
The short version. KeepMyTips stores your data on your device. We don’t have accounts, we don’t run a server that holds your information, we don’t show ads, and we don’t sell or share your data. Our business model is a subscription, not your data.
Who we are
KeepMyTips (“the App”) is published by Kaiyum, reachable at akaiyum@gmail.com. This policy explains what information the App handles and your choices.
Information stored on your device only
When you use KeepMyTips, you enter information such as your occupation, job and employer names, daily tip amounts, hours worked, optional notes, and optional W-2 figures. All of this is stored locally on your device in the App’s private database. We cannot see it, access it, or recover it. It never leaves your device unless you export it (PDF/CSV) and choose where to send it — at which point it is handled by the apps and services you share it to (e.g., your email provider), under their policies.
If you delete the App, or use Settings → Delete all data, this information is permanently erased. We cannot restore it, because we never had it.
Information that does leave your device
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We use RevenueCat, a subscription-management service, to verify your subscription status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-generated identifier and purchase information (product, price, store receipt) — never your tip data, name, or contact details. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy. Apple and Google handle your payment details under their own policies; we never see your payment card.
Crash and diagnostic data
The App contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. The only diagnostic information we may receive is what Apple and Google provide in aggregate through their standard, opt-in developer dashboards.
Support requests
If you use Settings → Contact support, the App opens your mail app with a message already written. Nothing is transmitted until you press send, and the App shows you the exact text first. That message contains only: a Support ID (the anonymous identifier described under Purchases, or a random local identifier if no subscription service is active), the App version, your platform and OS version, whether your subscription is active, and the number of entries you have logged. No tip amounts, employer names, dates, or notes are included. Emailing us is entirely optional; if you do, we hold that email in our inbox to answer you and delete it once the issue is resolved.
Notifications
Shift reminders are scheduled locally on your device. We do not operate a push-notification server.
What we never collect
Name, email, phone number, contacts, location, photos, browsing history, advertising identifiers. The App requests no permissions except optional notifications.
Children
KeepMyTips is a work-related record-keeping tool intended for users 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children; since data stays on-device, none is collected from anyone.
Your rights (GDPR/CCPA and similar)
Because your data lives on your device and we don’t hold copies: access = open the App; portability = the free “Export all my data” feature; deletion = Settings → Delete all data, or uninstalling. For anything involving purchase records, contact us at akaiyum@gmail.com and we will coordinate with RevenueCat, Apple, and Google. We honor applicable rights under GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and similar laws. We do not “sell” or “share” personal information as defined by the CCPA.
Changes
If we change this policy — for example, if a future version adds optional cloud backup — we will update this page, change the effective date, and describe the change in the App’s release notes before any new data practice takes effect. Optional cloud features will always be opt-in.
