Email support
Easiest route: Settings → Contact support in the app. It opens your mail app with an email already filled in, attaching your Support ID, app version, device OS and how many entries you have logged — never any tip amounts. You see the exact text before it opens, and nothing is sent until you press send.

Writing in manually? Include your device and OS version, and your Support ID from Settings → Support.
Never send screenshots containing figures you’d rather keep private.

Frequently asked

Do I qualify for the deduction?

The federal deduction covers workers in 62 recognized tipped occupations — servers, bartenders, stylists, nail techs, rideshare and delivery drivers, and more — for tax years 2025 through 2028. KeepMyTips asks for your job during onboarding, matches it to the official Treasury occupation list (with its TTOC code), and gives you a plain-English answer. The deduction is capped at $25,000 a year and is subject to income limits.

Where is my data stored? Can you see it?

Everything you enter lives in a private database on your device. There is no account, no server, and no cloud copy — so no, we can’t see it, and we can’t recover it if your phone is lost. Back up your device, or use the free export. Details in the Privacy Policy.

How do I get my data out?

Exporting all of your raw data is free, forever — Settings → Export all my data. KeepMyTips Pro adds the formatted exports: an IRS-ready daily tip log as a PDF, shaped like the Form 4070A daily record, and a full-history CSV for your tax preparer.

What’s the difference between free and Pro?

Free covers unlimited shift logging, the current and previous month of history, the Deduction Meter, and the raw data export. Pro ($4.99/month or $29.99/year) unlocks the PDF and CSV exports, your complete history across all years, the W-2 gap check, and multiple jobs.

Why are auto-gratuities tracked separately?

Mandatory service charges and auto-gratuities are treated as wages, not tips, so they don’t count toward the tip deduction. KeepMyTips records them on their own line so your qualified-tip total stays clean and defensible.

What is the W-2 check?

Your employer reports allocated and reported tips on your W-2 in Box 12 under code “TP.” The W-2 check compares that figure against your own log so you can spot a gap and raise it before you file rather than after.

Do I still owe payroll taxes on my tips?

Yes. Social Security and Medicare taxes still apply to tips. The deduction reduces federal income tax only. You are also still required to report tips to your employer for any month in which you receive $20 or more — KeepMyTips sends a monthly reminder.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not by us. Cancel any time in your Apple ID settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions) or in Google Play (Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions). Refunds are handled by the store. If a purchase doesn’t unlock, use “Restore purchases” on the Pro screen first, then email us.

How do I delete everything?

Settings → Delete all data wipes the on-device database permanently, as does uninstalling the app. Because we never had a copy, there is nothing for us to delete on our side and nothing to restore afterwards.

Is this tax advice?

No. KeepMyTips is a record-keeping tool. Eligibility indications, deduction estimates, and tax-savings figures are generated from what you enter plus general published IRS rules, and are simplified approximations. Consult a qualified tax professional about your situation. See the Terms of Use.

Still stuck? Email akaiyum@gmail.com with what you expected, what happened, and your device model — that’s usually enough to fix it in one round trip. Using Settings → Contact support in the app fills all of that in for you, plus the Support ID that tells us which install and subscription is yours.
